Charlie Nelson is a Latin Grammy-nominated director and producer known for crafting cinematic commercials, music videos, documentaries, and large-scale entertainment campaigns across the worlds of music, sports, television, and branded storytelling. His work combines strong visual language, performance-driven direction, and a cinematic approach shaped by nearly two decades inside the audiovisual industry.
Over the course of his career, Charlie has directed hundreds of commercials and more than 200 music videos, moving fluidly between large-scale broadcast productions, global entertainment campaigns, and artist-driven storytelling. His work includes campaigns and productions for Telemundo’s FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage, ESPN, Hyundai, Canela, Miss Universe, and Inter Miami CF, including productions featuring Lionel Messi, while also collaborating with artists such as Marc Anthony, Morat, Sebastián Yatra, Aitana, Camilo, Luis Fonsi, Nathy Peluso, Danna, Carin León, Lasso, Reik, MIKA, and Anitta, among others.
His work has received recognition from MTV, Billboard, Premios Juventud, the Heat Latin Music Awards, the Buenos Aires Music Video Festival, the Latin Grammy Awards, the Telly Awards, Promax, and Clio-recognized campaigns. Alongside his directing work, Charlie has also collaborated as cinematographer on selected projects, helping shape a visual identity centered around atmosphere, movement, and emotional storytelling.
Originally trained as a journalist, Charlie later pursued studies in Screenwriting and Cinematography in Madrid while continuing to develop his career across television, commercial filmmaking, and narrative storytelling. Since entering the television industry in 2006, he has built projects across multiple formats and international markets, eventually founding We Want To Film, a Miami-based production company developing commercials, documentaries, music videos, and narrative projects worldwide.
Alongside his commercial work, Charlie is currently expanding into long-form storytelling with his latest short film, Decidido, completed and his debut feature film currently in development. He also leads FILMA PRO, an educational platform and filmmaking masterclass focused on sharing practical industry knowledge with emerging filmmakers.
