Charlie Nelson is a Latin Grammy-nominated director and cinematographer known for his work in commercials, documentary films, and music videos for top artists like Reik, Lasso, Myke Towers, Danna Paola, Kenia Os, MIKA, Ozuna, Carin León, Camilo, Luis Fonsi, Lele Pons, Wisin, Justin Quiles, Grupo Firme, Anitta, Kim Loaiza, Jhay Cortez, Farruko, Alejandra Guzmán, Gloria Trevi, Big Soto, Sanluis, Alex Rose and Piso 21, among others.
His eclectic style, with a focus on narrative and performance-driven music videos, has earned him significant recognition. Notably, his video "Mi Niña Remix" won Video of the Year at the 2021 Heat Awards, and in 2023, he won two Pepsi Music Awards, including "Video of the Year." He has also been nominated at the Buenos Aires Music Video Festival and for a Latin Grammy in 2018.
Charlie graduated in Journalism and later studied Screenwriting and Cinematography in Madrid before relocating to Mexico City. Since 2021, he has been based in Miami, where he continues to work on projects worldwide. His videos have garnered attention from Premios Juventud and Billboard, with "Ojos Marrones" by Lasso recognized by MTV as one of the best videos of 2022.
In 2023, Charlie won a Silver Telly Award for his project for Hyundai. He also runs his own production company, "We Want To Film," which has experienced exponential growth over the past two years. Currently, Charlie is working on his first feature film and teaching a MasterClass called "El Videoclip desde Cero" (Music Video From Scratch), where he shares his expertise with aspiring filmmakers.
